Ilyoplax pusillus

Carapace pentagonal; lateral margin with a notch behind outer orbital angle; upper orbital margin very oblique and the lateral borders markedly convergent backwards. Male cheliped without teeth on inner face of carpus, palm relatively short and very high, fixed finger horizontal in relation to palm, each of the fingers with a crenulate carina on outer side. Second to fifth pereiopods with meri unarmed, with large tympana on two sides. Male abdomen not or slightly narrowed at the fifth segment. (Türkay 1995)

Range: Japan - (de Haan, 1835), Shimoda (Sakai, 1935), Shimoda, Tanabe, Nagasaki and Kagoshima (Sakai, 1939), Sagami Bay (Sakai, 1965b), Sagami Bay, Yokohama, Shimoda, Ise Bay, Kii Tanabe, Tosa Bay, Kagoshima, Nagasaki, and Ariake Bay (Sakai, 1976a), off Yanagawa City and Arao City (Miyake, 1961), Amakusa (Yamaguchi et al., 1976), Nanki Shirahama (Miyake, 1983); Korea - Hae-undae, Dangdong, and Bangjugpo (Kim, 1973); mud-flat of inland sea or river mouth.
