Eriocheir leptognathus

Rathbun, 1913

This species differs from ordinary species of Eriocheir in having slender external maxillipeds and a wider median hiatus between them. The antero-lateral borders are parallel in posterior half but markedly convergent in anterior half, where three teeth are deeply cut, the anteriormost one is longest and its outer margin obliquely truncate. Chela of both sexes is thickly furnished with soft hairs on inner surface only, the outer surface being quite naked and smooth. A longitudinal row of long hairs traversing the dorsal surface of propodus and dactylus of the anterior two pairs of ambulatory legs is characteristic. The species is reported by Kamita from various localities on the Yellow Sea side of Corea but there is no record of its occurrence in Japanese mainland. (T. Sakai, 1939: 671)
