Carapace especially depressed in front of anterior and behind posterior crest, anterior crest denticulate, median one so only in its lateral portions; antero-lateral margin unarmed behind fronto-lateral spine; rostrum short, triangular, reaching at most to middle of first segment of antennular peduncle. Chelipeds very heterochelous in both sexes. Thoracic sternum quite convex, sternites V and VII each with a transversal crest. First male pleopod strongly curved, sinuate near tip. (Türkay 1995)

Range: Japan - Suruga Bay (Rathbun, 1932), Miyazaki, west of Kagoshima, Koshiki-jima, Shimane and Oki (Yokoya, 1933), Manazuru (Sakai, 1935), Sagami Bay (Sakai, 1939), Sagami Bay and Tosa Bay (Sakai, 1976a), off Kochi (Miyake, 1983), Tosa Bay (de Saint Laurent, 1989); South China Sea - off Hainan Island (de Saint Laurent, 1989, Dai & Yang, 1991), Nansha Islands (Chen & Xu, 1991); Philippines - north of Lubang Island (Serène & Vadon, 1981), north-east of Lubang (de Saint Laurent, 1989); 70-200 m.
