The lateral margins of the carapace are without an epibranchial spine or tooth but have a simple node that is sometimes absent. The frontal margin is finely denticulate with feeble submedian lobes and a hardly indicated antennal sinus. The carapace, chelipeds and ambulatory legs are a uniform deep brownish colour. The internal angle of the cheliped carpus is without a spine. (Serène, 1984)
