Front 2-lobed, not very protruding, median frontal notch usually feebly developed, front usually smoothly curved; tips of chelipeds pointed, not spoon-shaped; basal antennal joint with acute granular or tubercular crest; 5 antero-lateral teeth; cardiac ridges not present on carapace; protogastric region smooth or granular but without ridge; male first pleopod with markedly recurved tip, most of subterminal spines on convex surface; male abdomen with sides of penultimate segment converging gradually.
