Miers, 1886

Carapace hexagonal, broader than long, surface granular with distinct tubercles on each protogastric, one in the middle of the mesogastric, two on cardiac, and one on each branchial region; front with four subequal pointed teeth. Chelipeds homochelous; merus with 1 spine on anterior and 1-2 on posterior border; carpus with spine on inner corner, and 2-3 small ones on outer face; palm with 3 spines. Posterior borders of joints of swimming leg smooth. (Türkay 1995)

Five antero-lateral teeth; carapace relatively narrow, length 0.7 times breadth including last tooth; merus of natatory legs much longer than broad; penultimate segment of male abdomen broader than long. (Davie 1999)
