Carapace only slightly broader than long, very convex, surface smooth and glabrous, except for epibranchial crest; front little protruding, median notch reduced; antero-lateral borders with 5 teeth, 2nd to 5th with rounded tips. Cheliped merus without teeth; carpus with an internal tooth and a row of granules on external face; palm with 2 crests on upper border, both ending in a rounded tooth, external face with a little distinct crest, lower face smooth. Antero-lateral border comprising 5 teeth or lobes; carapace broader than long, with single epibranchial ridge more or less distinct; front broadly triangular and sub-entire; second antero-lateral tooth not broader than third or fourth. (Davie 1999)
