Ethusina robusta

Carapace longer than broad. Regions indistinct. Cervical and branchial groove distinct. Surface finely granulated, with short pubescence. Lateral borders swollen. External orbital tooth long, nearly reaching to tips of frontal teeth. Frontal border divided into four subequal projecting teeth by a V-shaped and two U-shaped notches; the tips of median teeth directed forwards, not laterally. Base of the antennule very dilated. Eye peduncle slightly tapering, not cylindrical. Chelipeds subequal in both sexes, thin and slender; outer surface of palm smooth; fingers very slender, scarcely denticulated on the cutting edges. P2-P3 relatively elongated and slender. P4 and P5 nearly filiform. (Guinot 1998)

Range: East China Sea (Chen, 1986c); Philippines - north of Lubang (Chen, 1993); Indonesia - Banda Sea (Miers, 1886); New Caledonia (Chen, 1993); Hawaiian Islands - Pailolo Channel, Oahu, and vicinity of Kauai (Rathbun, 1906); 1350-2606 m.
