Moloha majora

Maximum carapace length about 40 mm. Surface of carapace armed with prominent spines of symmetrical arrangement and numerous additional spinules; pseudorostral spine with an accessory spinule; rostral spine about half as long as pseudorostral spines. Chelipeds of male not much longer than the following ambulatory legs. Merus of second to fourth pereiopods armed with large spines on anterior and posterior borders. Merus of fifth pereiopods smooth to naked eye, only distal spine prominent; proximoventral corner of propodus strongly produced and provided with spines. (Türkay 1995)

Range: Japan - Izu Peninsula and Sagami Bay (Sakai, 1936c), Kominato, Sagami Bay, Shima Peninsula, Kii Minabe and Tosa Bay (Sakai, 1976a), Muroto, Sagami Bay and Hayama (Guinot & Richer de Forges, 1995); Taiwan; 100-310 m.
