Carapace markedly wider than long, transversely subcylindrical, without postero-lateral facet. Orbits transverse. Eyestalks not very long. Ischium of third maxillipeds usually distinct and independent, but smaller than the merus; merus longitudinal or little oblique; palp often the largest part of the third maxillipeds. (Guinot 1998)
