Genus Liomera

Dana, 1851

Carapace broad, transversely oval. Dorsal surface convex longitudinally and transversely; regions and subregions of the carapace well delineated. Antero-lateral margins divided into broad, rounded lobes. Chelipeds: propodus not elongated; fingers with tips slightly hollowed but not spoon-shaped. Ambulatory legs more or less depressed. Male abdomen with third to fifth segments fused. (Guinot 1998)

Type species: Liomera lata Dana, 1851 = Carpilius cinctimanus White, 1847.
