Carapace broad, transversely oval. Dorsal surface strongly convex, smooth and naked. Antero-lateral margins entire, with a small and low epibranchial tubercle. Chelipeds unequal, dissimilar, smooth and naked; heterodonty, the large cheliped finger bearing prominent crushing molariform tooth. Ambulatory legs long, thin, subcylindrical, smooth and naked. Thoracic sternum narrow, with sutures 4/5 to 7/8 complete and nearly parallel. Male abdomen with six segments plus telson, the third fused to fourth. Female openings sternal. Male openings coxal.
