Antero-lateral margins of carapace cut into six teeth. Posterior margin of carapace nearly straight and forming either an angular junction or a curve with the postero-lateral margins. The four medial frontal teeth larger and broader than lateral frontal teeth. Lobule at the external angle of the basal antennal article not nearly touching the front, so that the flagellum stands in the upper part of the orbital hiatus. Chelipeds with or without a spine on posterior border of merus. (Guinot 1998)
