Genus Doclea

Carapace subcircular or discoidal. Dorsal surface marked with processes or spines of a regular arrangement. Postero-lateral angles smooth, not armed with tooth or prolongation. Rostral spines very short, the tips being separated by a more or less marked median slit. Preocular tooth generally absent. Supraocular eave only weakly expanded. Basal antennal article triangular or subrectangular. Presence of a high, usually conical, tubercle on the antero-lateral angle of the buccal frame and of a similar tubercle on pterygostomial margin. Pterygostomial region flat or canaliculated with a channel edged with long hairs. (Guinot 1998)
