Postorbital lobe rudimentary; hepatic margin with a slender spine; distal margin of basal antennal article at least level with, usually extending forward beyond, anterior margin of eyestalk, free or fused to front; green (antennal) gland distinct and more or less distant from junction of basal antennal article and epistome; third maxilliped with merus as broad as the ischium; basal antennal article usually flattened ventrally; rostrum of two spines or fused only in basal half; rostral spines fused for about the basal half; supraorbital eave with a preorbital spine and often a small antorbital lobe; intestinal region with a slender medial spine or low tubercle on posterior margin; small species (carapace length to 12mm).
