Ilyoplax deschampsi

(Rathbun, 1913)

Carapace subquadrilateral, surface beset with short, setiferous, rugose lines; lateral margin with a notch behind outer orbital angle; upper orbital margin transverse and the lateral borders not markedly convergent backwards. Male cheliped without teeth on inner face of carpus, palm and immovable finger with 3-4 longitudinal carinae on lower face. Second to fifth pereiopods with meri unarmed, a small tympanum which may be indistinct on the upper face. Male abdomen abruptly narrowed at the fifth segment. (Türkay 1995)

Type locality: Shanghai, China.
Range: Japan - Boso Peninsula (Sakai, 1976a), Chikugo-gawa, Fukuoka Prefecture (Sakai, 1976a); Korea - (Rathbun, 1913b), Yellow Sea side (Kamita, 1941); China - Shanghai (Rathbun, 1913b), Liaodong Peninsula, Ba Hai, and south of Shandong Peninsula (Shen, 1932), Yantai (Shen, 1936); muddy estuary.
