Carapace subquadrate, 1.1-1.2 times as broad as long, surface evenly covered with fine granules. Behind orbital region with a slightly depressed longitudinal trace and an indistinguishable ridge. Metagastric region with two puncta side by side laterally. Gastric and cardiac regions defined by narrow groove. Front narrow, rounded, slightly deflected. Outerorbital angle subangular in shape, directed anteriorly. Eyestalks slender, cornea not swollen. Merus of third maxilliped as long as broad, the distal end of exopod reaches to basal half of ischium.
Chelipeds asymmetrical in both sexes. Merus of large chela with dorso-inner margin carinated, inner-distal angle protruded into a serrated leaf-like protrusion. Carpus serrated on outer-distal margin, inner-distal angle spinulous. Palm as high as long, longer than dactylus. Immovable finger of most fully adult male narrow at the base, in the not quite adult male broad at the base. No distinguishable gap between two fingers. Propodus of the first and second ambulatory legs with short setae on anterior margin. Dactylus of second ambulatory leg with setae on basal anterior margin.
First pleopod of the male slender, its distal part slightly outcurved, subdistal protrusion rounded. Abdomen elongate, sixth segment 1.3 times as broad as long. Telson triangular in shape. Abdomen of the female ovate-rounded, telson triangular in shape, sinuated into the sixth segment. Carapace length of the male 22.3-25 mm, breadth 26.0-27.7 mm; of the female, length 27.2 mm, breadth 32 mm. (Dai & Yang, 1991)
