Chiromantes obtusifrons

(Dana, 1851)

Carapace quadrate, more transverse than usual, a little narrower behind, throughout with prominent granules, and with no lines on the lateral regions, granules scattered and distinct, surface rather distinctly areolate, antero-lateral margin entire, front perpendicular, but rounding above into back, frontal margin arcuate. Epistome granulate. Anterior feet of moderate size, carpus and hand granulate above, outer surface of hand smooth, fingers naked. Posterior feet granulate, carpus very short and scattered hirsute, merus nearly naked. (Dana, 1852c: 355).

Type locality: Sandwich Island, Hawaii.
Range: Sumatra - Banda Aceh (de Man, 1895b, 1898); Taiwan; Guam (Edmondson, 1959); Hawaiian Islands - (Edmondson, 1959), Sandwich Island (Dana, 1852), Hilo (Rathbun, 1906); Cook Islands - Niue (Rathbun, 1907).
