Discoplax hirtipes

(Dana, 1852)

Carapace smooth in adult individuals with antero-lateral crest fading away with age; distance of epibranchial tooth to exorbital about 1/3 orbita breadth. Horny endpiece of male first pleopod with a strong V-shaped indentation terminally, lower face of plate not visible. Operculum of female genital duct very much protruded, covering the vulval slit in ventral view. (Türkay 1995)

Daito-jima (Sakai, 1976a), Tokashiki (Türkay & Sakai, 1976), Ishigaki-jima (Miyake, 1983), Ginowan, Okinawa (Shokita et al., 2000), Amami-Oshima; Taiwan - Kaohsiung and Wolanpi (Sakai, 1939, Lin, 1949); Indonesia - Edam Island (de Man, 1888d); Palau (Sakai, 1939); eastern Australia; Fiji (Dana, 1852); Hawaiian Islands.
