Pinnotheres parvulus

The carapace is subglobose, the extreme width of which only very slightly exceeding the length, and the antero-lateral borders very long and rounded. The front moderately produced anteriorly, the posterior border almost straight or very slightly concave. The dactylus of external maxillipeds just reaches the tip of the propodus; the inner angle of ischium-merus joint is rounded. The last pair of ambulatory legs not much slenderer than the anterior three pairs; the dactyli of anterior two pairs are subequal and short; those of the penultimate pair are moderately long, while those of the last pair are longest; the inner border of the dactyli of last two pairs are fringed with longish hairs. Range: Japan - Yokohama (Doflein, 1902), Tokyo Bay, Tosa Bay and Nagasaki (Sakai, 1939, 1976); Taiwan - An-ping (Lin, 1949); China Sea (Stimpson, 1858b, 1907); Thailand - Laem Ngop (Rathbun, 1910a); New Zealand (Hornell & Southwell, 1909).
