Pinnotheres cyclinus

Diagnosis: Dactylus of third maxilliped large, attached at middle of the large penultimate segment, nearly extended to its bluntly rounded extremity. Third pair of ambulatory legs longest. Dactylus of third leg longer than any of the first two legs, of fourth leg longer than that of third and twice as long as any of the first two legs.

Description of female: carapace slightly broader than long, broadest at bases of second legs. Proportion of length of breadth 1: 1.14. Surface glossy. Regions indistinct. Anterior portion convex, posterior more or less flattened.
Antero-lateral angles of carapace rounded. Postero-lateral angles also broadly rounded, overlapping the lateral portion of first abdominal segment. Lateral portion of carapace convex at bases, somewhat straight on its upper border. Posterior margin of carapace concave at middle.
Front deflexed, narrower than that of Pinnotheres affinis Bürger but more projected beyond antero-lateral angles of carapace. Margin straight when viewed dorsally.
Ischium-merus of third maxilliped with its outer margin arcuated, inner slightly concave, plumose hairy, inner angle rounded. Carpus rather broadened at its distal portion. Propodus rather large, with a rounded extremity. Dactylus attached at middle of inner margin of its penultimate segment, nearly extended to its extremity. Exognath short, triangular, its flagellum two-segmented, of which the distal segment is tapering and bears some long setae at its extremity.
Movable finger slightly longer than immovable, bearing a tooth at its basal third, immovable finger bearing two smaller ones at its base. Tip of movable finger more curved than the other.
Ambulatory legs slender. Third pair longest. Second longer than first. Third longer than second. Carpus of third leg longer than any of the corresponding segment of other legs. Propodus of third leg longer than that of fourth. Dactylus of second leg slightly longer than that of first, of third much longer than any of the first two, of fourth more than twice as long as any of the first two and more than one and half times that of third. Dactyli of third and fourth legs hairy on their inner margins only.
