Paeduma orientale

(Rathbun, 1909)

Carapace subquadrangular, much broader than long; lateral margins subparallel, without any trace of teeth or lobes; front slightly produced, rather indistinctly bilobed, with very shallow median emargination. Chelipeds homochelous, without any spines, but with short bristles especially on the margins. Second to fourth pereiopods with hairs and bristles on the margins of the joints, much less so on anterior and posterior faces; meri, carpi and propodi flattened, most strongly so in the third pereiopod; dactyli much shorter and narrower than propodi. Type locality: Gulf of Thailand.
Range: Japan - Nanki Shirahama, Kii Tatsugahama and Nagasaki (Sakai, 1939), Kii Peninsula and Nagasaki (Sakai, 1976a); China - Guangdong (Dai & Yang, 1991); Gulf of Thailand (Rathbun, 1909).
