Different from Eucrate crenata, this species has a pair of well-marked postfrontal ridges, and a deep groove along the upper orbital border on each side. A distinct groove runs postero-laterally from the third antero-lateral tooth, and the same groove directing inward. Chelipeds are very heavy and the distal border of carpus is furnished with short hair. This is a rather small species. (Sakai, 1976)
