(Dana, 1852)
Carapace variable in the proportion between length and width; in my specimen it is as 1: 1.6. The dorsal surface is covered with a pavement of fine granules interspersed with pits; the lobules are all perfectly demarcated but the grooves separating them are shallow and indistinct. Four granulated lobes on the antero-lateral borders; the median notch of the front is well marked. The upper and outer surfaces of wrist and palm with numerous pits and craters; the carpus and propodus of ambulatory legs have each two parallel crests along the anterior border, the crests meet at the end so as to leave a trough-like space between them.
