Hypocolpus haani

Width/length ratio > 1.40. Dorsal surface of the carapace with prominent lobules and separated by large deep furrows. Coat of rather short setae, present in the furrows. Regions well delimited and thickly covered with numerous granules. Subhepatic cavities entirely visible when the chelipeds are folded against the carapace; opening of the subhepatic cavity elongate-ovoid, narrower at the anterior and posterior extremities; the anterior edge cristate; the posterior edge strongly concave; the bottom of the cavity smooth. Front narrow and bilobate, each lobe markedly convex. Chelipeds stout and heavy; outer surface of palm very uneven, covered with granules arranged in rows. Ambulatory legs slender but not very long, covered with granules. Ventral surface and abdomen covered with coarse granules, compacted and irregularly projecting. (Guinot 1998)
