Front 2-lobed; 5 antero-lateral teeth; tips of chelipeds spoon-shaped; carapace not very broad, spines on hands of chelipeds of normal length. (Davie 1999)

Type locality: Madagascar, intertidal.
Range: Madagascar - Nosy Bé (Crosnier, 1962); Taiwan - Ping-tung Province (Huang & Yu, 1997); China - Hainan Island (Dai & Yang, 1991); Indonesia - Mamuju, Paleleh, Misool Group, Kepulauan Talaud, Jayapura, Biak Island and Kurudo Island (Stephenson, 1975); New Georgia, Solomon Islands; Hawaii - Honolulu (Stephenson, 1972a); Samoa; Melanesia; intertidal.
