Carapace closely beset with hairs, frontal ridges short, protogastrics evident, mesogastrics straight and uninterrupted, epibranchial ridge interrupted by cervical groove only, 2 pairs of mesobranchial, and 2 cardiac ridges; front with 2 lobes; 5 antero-lateral teeth, fourth and fifth subequal, smaller than the others. Basal antennal joint with an indistinct granulate ridge. Upper surface of cheliped palm with 1 spine on anterior and 2 on posterior borders, respectively; inner face with a longitudinal carina made of squamiform markings. Posterior border of propodus of swimming leg with about 10 very small spinules. Male first pleopod stout and regularly curved, tip flared, inner surface without conspicuous bristles; outer surface with about 18 bristles. (Türkay 1995)

Front 2-lobed; tips of chelipeds pointed, not spoon-shaped; basal antennal joint granular or tubercular; 5 antero-lateral teeth; male first pleopod with strongly flared tip, shaped like a foot in profile view; numerous spinules on posterior border of propodus of fifth leg; transverse sculpture present on surface of sternum and abdomen.
