Thalamita kagoshimaensis

Carapace covered with a fine pile, a pair of frontal ridges, a pair of protogastrics, mesogastric interrupted in mid line, epibranchial ridges interrupted by cervical grooves and medially, cardiac ridge short, medially interrupted, 2 short mesobranchial ridges; front with 4 lobes, medians narrower than laterals; 5 antero-lateral teeth, fourth the smallest. Upper surface of cheliped palm with 2 spines on anterior and 2 on posterior borders, respectively; lower border with squamiform markings. (Türkay 1995)

Front 4-lobed, sinuous, median frontal lobes fairly prominent narrower than laterals; 5 antero-lateral teeth; fourth antero-lateral tooth almost as large as fifth. (Davie 1999)

Type locality: Taniyama, Kagoshima, Japan.
