Carapace only slightly broader than long, not very convex, surface with numerous setose transverse ridges, those are very distinct in the anterior three quarters and fading posteriorly; front little protruding, median notch not very clear; antero-lateral borders with 5 teeth. Cheliped merus with 2 teeth on anterior border, posterior border smooth; carpus with a strong internal and 2 small external teeth; palm with transverse setose ridges on upper face, external face densely granulate, lower face smooth. Antero-lateral border comprising 5 teeth or lobes; carapace with numerous transverse ridges; front scarcely projecting; postero-lateral borders straight. (Davie 1999)

Queensland (Stephenson & Cook, 1970); 10-65 m.
