Jonas formosae

(Balss, 1922)

This species brought from Takao, Formosa is different from the Japanese species, Gomeza distincta De Haan:
1) Dorsal surface of carapace covered with granules in the same size, and larger denticles not found along the middle line shown by de Haan.
2) Outer border of orbit is regularly and finely granulate, but not smooth.
3) P1 chela with granular line on outer surface, otherwise bearing 2 or 3 larger tooth; upper surface with small spinule; fingers with fine setae. (Balss, 1922a: 4)

Type locality: Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
Range: Taiwan - Kaohsiung (Balss, 1922), Kaohsiung, Hsiak'unhsen, and Tingch'ieting (Lin, 1949).
