Daldorfia triangularis

Sakai, 1974

Near Daldorfia spinosissima, but the carapace and chelipeds of this species are less markedly spinulated. The carapace is sharply triangular in outline, the lateral angles being markedly projected laterally, and their tip directing slightly forwards. The rostrum is horizontally projecting forward and spatuliform, the tip being bilobate and the dorsal surface deeply excavated. The dorsal surface of carapace is almost smooth, only sparingly tuberculated; a pair of shallow curved grooves on the anterior surface in front of the protogastric area and also a hemispherical one behind the intestinal area.
The anterior half of the antero-lateral border is almost entire, only marked with a small hepatic protuberance, marked with two spines; while the posterior half of the border is marked with six or seven obtuse teeth, which are not jagged or spinulated unlike the former species. The posterior border of carapace is slightly concave with a distinct incision on each side.
Chelipeds are rather slender, the merus is armed with two or three teeth, each on anterior and posterior border. The propodus is not distally thickened and its outer border marked with four or five leaf-like teeth, while its inner lower border is armed with three or four sharp teeth. The prehensile edges of fingers are indistinctly dentate, while their outer borders are armed with three or four sharp spines. The ambulatory legs are armed with several teeth on the anterior and posterior borders of each segment.
There is a deep semicircular depression on the anterior median surface of the sternite. (Sakai, 1976)
