Carapace subcircular; surface with a number of spiniform tubercles, which are especially erect on the branchial regions, these last ones markedly swollen and well delimited; supraorbital eave with a spine in front and behind the eyestalk, exorbital angle spiniform, hepatic lobe behind it acute; rostrum composed of two slender spines; interantennular partition well developed and bearing a spine at its apex ventrally. Basal antennal article not extending forward further than half diametre of eyestalk. Chelipeds longer than any of the ambulatory legs; merus and palm especially long and of similar length; fingers very short, less than a fourth of palm length. Ambulatory legs long and slender; meri longest; dactyls simple, slightly incurved and not prehensile. (Türkay 1995)
