Cycloes granulosa

Carapace slightly longer than broad, its surface with longitudinal rows of tubercles; lateral tooth carapace sharper but if at all larger than marginal teeth anterior to it; front with V-shaped sinus. Chelipeds with upper borders dentate, stridulating band on inner extensor margin of movable finger of right chela composed of less than 20 ridges and tubercles. Second to fifth pereiopods smooth, without denticulation. First pleopod of male straight in distal portion, not sinuous, lateral margin of distal opening straight. (Türkay 1995)

Range: Japan - (de Haan, 1837), Shimoda (Sakai, 1935), Shimoda and Nagasaki (Sakai, 1937a), Amakusa (Miyake et al., 1962), Sagami Bay (Sakai, 1965b), Sagami Bay, Shimoda, Mikawa Bay, Kii Nagashima, Kii Minabe, and Tosa Bay (Sakai, 1976a), Shiono-misaki (Takeda, 1979a); Taiwan - (Galil & Clark, 1996), Tingch'ieting (Lin, 1949); China - Hainan Island (Dai & Yang, 1991); Vietnam - Nha Trang Bay (Galil & Clark, 1996); South China Sea - Nansha Islands (Chen & Xu, 1991); Singapore (Galil & Clark, 1996); on sand, 15-100 m.
