Calappa japonica

Length of carapace about 0.65 times its width, its surface tuberculated, clypeiform expansions with seven sharp teeth around free margin of each of them, expansions weakly developed, ambulatory legs nearly uncovered; front composed of two median blunt teeth, separated by a U-shaped deep sinus. The longitudinal septum of the prolongated portion of the endostome is low and entirely concealed by the lamellar processes of the first pair of maxillipeds. (Türkay 1995)
