Carapace less than 1.3 as broad as long, subrectangular. Dorsal surface without distinct ridges on branchial regions. Antero-lateral teeth with a broad base, rectangular. Front relatively broad, very slightly constricted at bases of eyestalks. Eyestalks relatively short and stout. Epistome with posterior margin broadly concave, without support of ridges of anterior buccal cavity. Third maxillipeds: merus subequal to ischium. Chelipeds in males without stridulating crest on inner margin of merus. (Guinot 1998)
