Carapace rectangular, longer than broad, widest anterior to midlength, deflected anteriorly, with deep inverted V-shaped groove flanking mesogastric region, latter inflated; pterygostomial region fused to carapace. Third maxilliped with exopod, merus with distolateral projection. Anterior extension of sternite of first pereiopod with transverse band of granules, sternite of second to fourth pereiopods with suture. Cutting edge of dactylus of chela with a low proximal tooth. Merus of second pereiopod lacking distomesial projection; coxae of third and fourth pereiopods with well-developed anterior lobes. (Türkay 1995)
