Carapace dorso-ventrally more or less depressed, its dorsal surface bearing well marked transversal crests, the posterior one sharp, distinct throughout its length; antero-lateral margins with triangular or rounded lobes. Infraorbital tooth not spiniform, no distinct supraorbital tooth. Ocular peduncles generally long and reaching to fronto-lateral spine. (Türkay 1995)
