Genus Euxanthus

Dana, 1851

Carapace strongly convex dorsally, distinctly divided into regions and subregions. Dorsal surface without vermicular erosions, appearing entirely smooth. Subhepatic cavities absent, exceptionally hardly outlined. Presence of a defined pre-orbital tooth. No circular opening at the junction of the carpus and propodus of chelipeds. Fingers of chelipeds slightly hollowed. Ambulatory legs folded into concavity of the postero-lateral margin by a remarkable coaptation. (Guinot 1998)
