Carapace semi-elliptical or semicircular. Posterior margin nearly straight. Postero-lateral angles strongly produced. Rostrum more or less deflexed. Chelipeds of not great length, never sharply serrate, merus and hands indefinitely contorted. (Guinot 1998)
