Anterior part of carapace ahead of orbits not produced laterally, flagellum of antenna usually visible dorsally; orbit not comprising a continuous rim; rostral and hepatic lobes both very short (about 1/8 postrostral carapace length) or both broad and dorso-ventrally flattened or, if rostral spines long and slender (Antilibinia lappacea), hepatic lobes laterally flattened and directed straight forward; carapace dorsally usually smooth; meri of ambulatory legs smooth or with only a terminal tubercle or lobe.
