Carapace rounded, quadrate, slightly broader than long, surface covered with fine granules at the anterior and near antero-lateral margins, the remaining part smooth. Between the gastric and cardiac regions with an impression, the branchial region and the near postero-lateral margin each with a fine groove. Front slightly deflected, anterior margin nearly straight. Antero-lateral margins divergent backwards, arched at the middle; postero-lateral margins almost parallel; posterior margin straight. Infraorbital crest composed of 3 lobes. Merus of the third maxillipeds with a broad longitudinal groove medially, lateral surface convex, dactylus small.
Chelipeds stout, smooth. Carpus shorter than the palm. Palm 1.2 times as long as high. Fingers slightly shorter than the palm; the inner border of the two fingers denticulated, weakly gaping. Ambulatory legs stout; merus finely serrated on anterior and posterior borders; propodus and dactylus with short hairs and long setae.
First pleopod of the male stout, distal chitinous process truncate. Abdomen triangular; telson bluntly rounded, as broad as long. Carapace length of the male 6.7 mm, breadth 8.6 mm. (Dai & Yang, 1991)
