Parapyxidognathus deianira

(de Man, 1888)

Carapace quadrilateral, surface smooth. Frontal margin nearly straight, slightly deflected. Antero-lateral margin with 3 sharp teeth including the outerorbital angle. Exopodite of the third maxillipeds broad, merus with its antero-external angle protruding.
Chelipeds swollen. Palm smooth, its outer surface with a transverse ridge extending from the distal end of the immovable finger. Inner borders of the two fingers with blunt teeth, gap small when closed. Carpus and propodus of the ambulatory legs densely fringed with long hairs on the anterior and posterior borders. Merus of the first 3 ambulatory legs with 3 sharp spines on the postero-distal angle, in the last legs with 2-3 spinules.
First pleopod of the male elongately flattish and stout, with 2 lobes at its inner-distal end. Abdomen broadly elongate; telson subtriangular, distal margin bluntly rounded. Abdomen of the female subrounded; telson semicircular. Carapace length of the male 6.6 mm, breadth 9 mm; of the female, length 5.7-7.8 mm, breadth 7.3-10.9 mm. (Dai & Yang, 1991)
