Small size. Carapace subhexagonal, convex. Surface not areolated, smooth at the naked eye, glabrous. Antero-lateral border armed with three teeth, the first fused with the exorbital angle and obtuse, the second spiniform, the last very sharp, nearly horizontal. Front faintly trilobed. Supraorbital border with denticles. Chelipeds short; palm inflated, smooth in males, granular in females; no carina on the inner surface of the palm; fingers very long and with black colouration on a part of their length or on the whole length; carpus with the inner angle broadly triangular but sharp at its tip and the external angle armed with a curved acute spine. Ambulatory legs long and slender, with long hairs along the margins. (Guinot 1998)
