Etisus utilis

The antero-lateral margins of the carapace have, behind the exorbital angles, seven large, curved, flattened teeth, almost of equal size. The front is bilobed and has a nearly straight margin. The chelipeds have the carpus armed with three spines on the internal margin, the proximal being the largest and the distal the smallest; the propodus has 4-5 short spines on the superior margin. Range: Madagascar - Nosy Bé (Lenz & Richters, 1881, Serène, 1984), Tamatave (Guinot, 1964b); Nicobar Islands (Heller, 1865); Japan - Ishigaki-jima and Kohama-jima, Okinawa (Sakai, 1976a); China - Zhongsha Island (Dai & Yang, 1991); Vietnam; Singapore (Alcock, 1898); Philippines; Palau; Indonesia - Batavia; New Caledonia.
