Carapace moderately broad (breadth twice or just less twice length); surface with well defined granular elevations, between which is a fine pile of hairs; all regions discernible; front with 3 teeth, outer pair much broader than the median; antero-lateral borders with 9 teeth, last one very large and directed slightly backwards; postero-lateral junction elevated to form a short ridge bearing an almost right-angled border. Antero-external angle of merus of third maxillipeds rounded. Cheliped merus with postero-distal border bearing 1 spine of very variable shape, anterior border with 3-4 spines; carpus with 2 spines; lower surface of palm granular or with squamiform markings. Posterior border of merus of swimming leg finely serrated. (Türkay 1995)
