Libystes lepidus

Carapace transversely elliptical, dorsal surface smooth, convex near the lateral borders; front about one third of carapace breadth, with a narrow but distinct edge, nearly truncate, median indentation hardly recognizable; antero-lateral borders with 5 obscure low teeth. Chelipeds subequal; anterior border of merus with minute granules, otherwise unarmed; carpus and palm unarmed, smooth and shining, the palm is not swollen, but as stout as the merus. Borders of ambulatory legs with strong hair brushes, fifth pereiopods gressorial. (Türkay 1995)

Type locality: Futami, Chichi-jima, Ogasawara-shoto, Japan.
Range: Japan - Ogasawara-shoto (Miyake & Takeda, 1970, Takeda, 1977a); Indonesia - Timor (Stephenson, 1975).
