Ethusa latidactylus

(Parisi, 1914)

Medium sized species, carapace length up to 13 mm. Carapace as long as broad or broader than long, with a group of longitudinally arranged granules on the cardiac region, otherwise surface smooth and almost entirely covered with short pubescence; exorbital teeth broadly triangular, anteriorly directed, reaching to base of frontal teeth; front quadridentate. Male adult chelipeds unequal, fingers of large chelae without larger teeth. Second and third pereiopods naked. (Türkay 1995)

Type locality: Sagami Bay, Japan.
Range: Japan - Sagami Bay (Parisi, 1914, Sakai, 1965b, 1976), Tosa Bay (Muraoka, 1998); South China Sea (Chen, 1986c); Philippines - near Lubang Island (Serène & Vadon, 1981), north of Lubang Island and south of Ragay Gulf (Chen, 1986a); Indonesia - Sumbawa (Ihle, 1916), Makassar Strait (Chen, 1993); 50-274 m.
