Paradorippe cathayana

Carapace convex postero-laterally, flat anteriorly. Regions very poorly marked, grooves very shallow. No large tubercles or long hairs present anywhere on carapace; pubescence low, in deeper grooves only. Frontal teeth sharper than exorbital teeth, separated by broadly U-shaped median emargination. Orbital fissure narrow, closed. Inner suborbital tooth triangular. Chelipeds of adult males strongly unequal, right larger; carpus smooth; chela high and evenly inflated, its outer surface smooth, lacking hairs over surface but with broad line of pubescence or short hairs on inner dorsal surface extending from middle of movable finger to base of merus and with second line vertically at inner distal end of merus; fingers extremely long, bent downwards. P2-P3 slender, lacking hairs on all articles; propodus of P3 less than three times as long as high; carpus with smooth dorsal ridge; dactyli slightly twisted, with well developed carinae on anterior and posterior surface. Merus of P5 reaching about middle of merus of P3. P4 and P5 with few hairs along superior margin, otherwise naked, and entirely smooth. Bivalve shell carrying habit. (Guinot 1998)
