Carapace bulging, dorsal surface strongly sculptured and spinulated, with pseudorostral spine about as long as carapace, bearing two dorsal spines. Chelipeds slender. Third pair of pereiopods longest. Propodus of fifth pereiopod very short, with its proximal portion developed into a long spine forming a long pincer with the long dactylus ("fingers" much longer than "palm"). (Türkay 1995)
