Carapace flat, broad, transversely oval; front a fourth or less than a fourth the greatest breadth of carapace; antero-lateral borders shorter than postero-lateral. Basal antennal joint does not nearly reach the front. Ridges of endostome strong and sharp. Male abdomen with all 7 segments distinct and separate (after Alcock, 1898: 176)
